Happy Birthday to me :)

July 10, 2008

I turn one year old as a blogger today.

So..After one year of blogging, 67 posts, and 321 comments………..

  • How do I feel???

    Goood :D
  • What future plans?

Continue the mad raving and occasional musing.

  • Learned anything?

Well…Just that it feels good to express yourself. And maybe even better when you find out that there are other nutters like you out there, who can relate with what you say and comment about it.

  • Anything to say about blogging?

Yes. Blogging totally rocks man! :P I have made so many friends, and this is like a parallel world to me, where I can be whoever I am, say want I want without fear or shame.
Cheers to Blogging!! And a big THANK YOU to everyone who has ever visited my blog :) (sniff sniff) Love you guys, rock on.

P.S. Jaane Tu is awesome…. I wont waste my time writing a review about it, I am probably the last to watch it anyways :P

Another tag (yippee!!)

January 20, 2008

I was tagged by KAPS (blog)

This one is fun! The rule is that females have to list out 10 things that they hate about men, and the males have to do that about females. I dont want this to get into a debate please. Its for fun! Keep it that way.

Here goes….10 things I hate about men:

  1. Their attraction to violent games and movies. (especially Kung Fu..I hope u read this Adhi :P )
  2. Unclean men, picking their noses when I sit next to them in public buses.
  3. Idiots who approach two girls sitting quietly on the beach and say Hello, aap kahaa ke rehne waale hai?? Hume aapse friendship karnee hai( You duffer!! Don’t come to Goa again if you think resident Goan girls are part of the tourism package)
  4.  Guys who wear wigs ( sorry for borrowing this point KAPS, but I totally agree with you, bald is beautiful :D )
  5. Men who think love and commitment are two different things. ( I love you …Doesn’t mean I want to spend the rest of my life with you, when I say I love you, I am not proposing to you….bull shit!!)
  6. Men who think anyone can be Abhishek Bacchan. You guys look horrible in the stupid hair-bands.
  7. Men who get offended when females on bikes over-take them on highways.
  8. Rude and irritating men (especially bus conductors) who think they make all the rules.
  9. Men who are obsessed with collecting gadgets and gizmos. (its nice to have an interest, but when it becomes the only topic you know to discuss properly, it gets boring)
  10. Men who get offended by all the above points and will take it personally, even when they know no1 is out to offend them.

Now the part where I give others the opportunity to bash the opposite sex :D

Here we go… I tag maverick, akshar, nishi, siddhi, delta1 and not to forget, my all time favourite for tag games…PAB. Enjoy!

One more tag!

September 7, 2007

I was tagged by Maverick. I suppose this one is easier than the others – just have to answer questions. Seeing that I’ll be completing 2 months as a blogger soon, this one might be an interesting post for me to read when I’m a (so to say) adult blogger ;-)

Well the rules first.

Rule 1. Name the person with link who tagged you.
Rule 2. Complete the questionnaire without changing the questions.
Rule 3. Tag 6 or more people. I’m sorry i might not be able to follow this one since i don’t know so many bloggers, and from earlier tag games I’ve learned that only few of those i know do complete the tags.

As i said, Maverick tagged me…and here are the questions.

1)Are you happy/ satisfied with your blog, with its content and look?
Happy..yes. Satisfied..No way!!! Every new blog i read makes me think..wow…I could have written about this.. As far as contents goes, as I said earlier, I started blogging so I could empty my head of all the nutty things that go through it…and I guess that is happening to my satisfaction..I do not like filling posts with forwarded mails just to keep the blog updated all the time. :-) Look…well I like many of the themes that wordpress provides. Will try them out one by one for sure, whenever i get bored :-)

Q2. Does your family know about your blog?
Hehe..maverick, i can understand why you want to know my answer for this one. After all the psycho things i write about…hehe… The answer is YES! My family does know. I don’t seek appreciation or approval from them, but they too have discovered some bizzare stuff about me through my blog ;-)

Q3. Do you feel embarrassed to let your friends know about your blog or you just consider it as a private thing?
Oh i love to have my friends read the blog. For one thing it gives me feedback from the people whose criticism i appreciate, and then i was screaming from the rooftops about it when i stated blogging :-D Plus it’s nice to have the people who know me trying to guess which person I’m referring to when i write about someone, or which incident i’m writing about…for example it was nice to see my best friend’s happiness when i mentioned her . :-)

Q4. Did blogs cause positive changes in your thoughts?
Well i’ve mentioned this earlier. I do find myself thinking ” i should write about this” many times, and i guess this is a positive thing. Your perspective about certain things does change when u actually put it in words.

Q5. Do you only open the blogs of those who comment on your blog or you love to go and discover more by yourself?
I love tag surfing. I like finding more things to read. Especially personal blogs rather than informative ones. Having said i love doing it, it is also one of then things i need to do if i have to find more like-minded people. Normally I tag-surf or explore my blogger friends’ blogrolls.

Q6. What does visitors counter mean to you? Do you care about putting it in your blog?
It mattered to me before I crossed a 1000 hits. Now i don’t really remember the latest count. I put it on my blog because it amazes me sometimes that my ramblings have been read so many times. And of course i wont deny that it gives me some amount of pride. By now, people who are really interested keep visiting to see what I’m writing, so I don’t have to keep reminding them or copying my link everywhere.

Q7. Did you try to imagine your fellow bloggers and give them real pictures?
Interesting question. Well….no. I like observing their styles and predicting what they’ll come up with next. Looks can be deceptive.. I’ve seen a sensible looking girl’s blog full of flowers n glitters, and a shy sweet guy’s blog full of rowdy statements. hehe…

Q8. Do you think there is a real benefit for blogging?
Well yes and no. As far as personal blogs like mine go, the WWW is so huge that my contribution is infinitesimal :-D but i do like finding people who like sharing my views and knowing more about me. As far as technical, political blogs go..I’m not really interested…but some of them are really good. The main things for me is (and i think I’m repeating myself too many times i think :-) ) that i get to express myself.

Q9. Do you think that bloggers’ society is isolated from real world or interacts with events?
Hell no!! Who said what happens in our lives has no effect on the world?? :-D No, seriously, i think bloggers do discuss very much real and very much relevant topics…through actual news writing, or through fictional writing, or through writing about their views.

Q10. Does criticism annoy you or do you feel it’s a normal thing?
When it comes in the form of advice or comments from people whose views i value, criticism helps me a lot. When it comes in the form of snide, kiddish taunts (hidden references to my blog :-D ) (yes people, it has happened)..hehe…it only amuses me.

Q11. Do you fear some political blogs and avoid them?
Nah…not even interested.

Q12. Did you get shocked by the arrest of some bloggers?
I am new to the world of blogging. But i did go n read…and yes i was shocked.

Q14. What do you like to hear? What’s the song you might like to put a link to, in your blog?
I absolutely love music. In fact i have a Diploma in Hindustani Classical Music.. (hehe.. talk about being modest :-P ) welllll…… song for my blog….hmmmm…i’ll change my mind in a few days…but right now i’d say.. Those sweet word – by Norah Jones :-)

Well thats the end of the questions…phew…it took longer than i thought it would..

Now I’m afraid I’m going to break the third rule…I’ve learned its stupid to force people to do tags…but i’d love to read how Moonriver, and Blues Rhapsody answer those questions. :-)

One month!!!

August 11, 2007

I’m one month old as a blogger!!!

Yipppeeeee….

Actually i never took it up as something I should do just because it’s a “happening thing” these days (as one of my friends pointed out), just that i needed a vent for some of the crazy things that go through my head. And I wish I had written more of all those crazy things, but writing something that so many people might read made me write pretty formally….on subjects that I thought would be “ideal” for discussion…but when I went through some of my post today i did find some of them superficial..more analytic and bookish than frank and “ME”…so i guess right now I’ll try to write about all the nutty things i think of and maybe people will like them too!!

Blogging has made me an artist!! I mean i cannot bear people with their “artistic temperament” who take their laptops to the beach for “inspiration”, but here i was one day…in the vegetable market during rains..(yuck!!!)…and i was thinking…”we probably had essays during our school-time about ‘one day at the market’ and how elementary that was…’ But then a vegetable market is such a complex institution ladies and gentlemen! How do all of them decide that carrots at all the vendors’ are going to be at one particular rate?? The tea-boy who sells tea to the vendors..how much vital information he carries from one to another!! The veggies come by the truckload and as i overheard a guy talking to someone on the other end (probably from the place from where they get the vegetables from) and i figured that this guy invests at least a 50 grand every 2-3 days for the three..maybe four stalls that he owns!!!..And here i was…thinking i should spend a few more hours here just to be able to write about it in my blog! :-P

Another thought that had sprung to my head….The east is ahead in time and the west lags in time..I remember learning that the earth is divided into 24 rough geographical ares, and the time in each leads by 1 hour. My question is: The earth is spherical. So does than mean that there is an area where on the east it is Monday and on the west it is Sunday(the people on one side are one whole day ahead of the people on the other side)??? One of my friends believes there is indeed such an area in the pacific ocean. I will certainly be doing more research on that one. For now any of my “readers” :-) can leave me an answer if they know about it. I wouldn’t have bothered about it if i wouldn’t have been blogging. But now i want to share what information i have…share my feelings..ask questions (however stupid or weird they might be ;-)    )

So this is me being my crazy self.

Actually I was rather surprised that  my page got more than 700 visits in my first month..Looks like I’m not ALL bad!!! Well I’m thankful about this part of my life…

I LOVE BLOGGING!!!! :-)
